Thank you to all of the community foundations who participated in the FEG 2026 Community Foundation Survey. This year, 121 U.S. community foundations across 30 states contributed valuable insights and data through the survey questionnaire. 

The survey captures evolving practices and priorities across the community foundation landscape, including asset allocation, spending policy, values-aligned investing, and the emerging role of artificial intelligence in foundation strategy and operations.

A Decade of Community Foundation Insights

What began as a simple flash poll has grown into a comprehensive annual study offering data-driven insights into the evolving priorities and practices of community foundations. Since 2016, more than 270 community foundations across 47 states have participated in the survey, contributing to a broader understanding of trends shaping the sector.
